Brand Review - 'Australis' Review By K

Happy 25th Birthday to Australis!

The products for review today are all from the brand Australis, which is and Australian based Makeup Company, they have been operating for 25 years and still going strong. The products are very affordable with every product from the brand being under $20. Australis is also against animal testing and are accredited on the “Choose Cruelty Free List”. The products include The Lip Travel Case, The Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder, The Eye Shadow Primer, The Nudist Eye Shadow Palette and The Colour Inject Mineral Lipsticks.

The Lip Travel Case
This product is aimed for use when travelling as the packaging is very compact and the lip glosses themselves are small and can easily be put in pockets or a tiny clutch. The lip glosses give of a sheer and natural colour. The formula is not sticky and it leaves the lips soft and smooth. The colours range from a nude to a bright red, these colours are very confronting in the packaging but give a soft natural finish.

 R.R.P $14.95 AUD

Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder
This powder comes in three different shades that will match anyone’s colour as they blend into the skin easily and naturally. It can be used by itself or layered over a foundation or bb cream without looking cakey. It can be applied lightly or built up for more coverage easily.

R.R.P $11.40 AUD

Eyeshadow Primer
This product is very long lasting and prevents creasing of eyeshadows. It is very smooth and is a clear consistency which is easy to blend. It is very inexpensive and is defiantly worth the money. It has a doe foot applicator which makes this product easy to apply.

R.R.P $12.95 AUD

The Nudist Eyeshadow Palette
This palette is said to be the Australian version of the naked palette, it has all the colours anyone would need for neutral daytime looks, it also includes darker colours that can be used to darken the eyes for a more dramatic look. All colours in this palette have some shimmer. This palette is great for beginners and is the perfect alternative to the Urban Decay Naked Palette as it is not available in Australia. This product is limited edition so get it while you still can.

R.R.P $9.95 AUD

Colour Inject Mineral Lipsticks
These lipsticks come in variety of different shades and finishes, some glittery, shimmery and even matte. These lipsticks are very pigmented and apply very smoothly and evenly. This product contains SPF 15 and Kakadu Plum Plum (which contains Vitamin C), Vitamin E, these lipsticks are very moisturizing and leave the lips feeling soft and smooth.

R.R.P $12.95 AUD

All products reviewed are my top picks from Australis and I recommend trying some of these products if you haven’t already.

‘Simply Skin’- First Impressions Review By E

Okay so a couple of days ago I purchased two new skin products. They are the ‘ST Ives-Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub’ and the ‘Simple-kind to skin moisturising facial wash’.  I use the ST Ives Scrub first as it is an exfoliating cream which has blemish fighting properties. It claims to be ‘an oil free scrub for acne-prone skin by using all natural exfoliants’. The product contains tiny grains which help to remove dead skin cells from the face and leaving behind oil free- smooth skin.
As the name suggests ‘Apricot Scrub’, it smells like apricots and is the perfect scent for a facial scrub. It’s not too over-powering and isn’t too sweet which makes the product highly tolerable when applying to the face.  Another feature that Iove about this product or brand is that it is not tested on animals, it is a natural product that won’t harm your face nor will it harm the environment.  I purchased this product from Woolworths for about $9, I think that is definitely a reasonable price for a product as good as this.
ST Ives Apricot Scrub
The ‘simple facial wash’ is perfect for people with sensitive skin.  It contains the vitamins B5-which actively restores, softens and smoothens skin and Vitamin E- which is used to moisturise and improve skin condition.  This product has no fragrance or colour which is awesome for people with allergies or who can’t tolerate scents. It has been dermatologically tested and approved. I also purchased this product from Woolworths for about $6.50, again a great bargain for a product like this.
Simple Facial Wash
From using both products I noticed a definite change in my skin within one use. My skin was noticeably smoother and clearer and looked more fresh and moisturised. These products are both available at local Priceline stores , Woolworths, pharmacies and any other supermarkets stocking St Ives or Simple.

The verdict:

E's Mini Weekend Haul

My favourite product out of my mini haul would have to be the ‘Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder’.  It is a perfect powder consistency that doesn’t apply thick or cakey. It does have a slight fragrance which I don’t mind, it is a perfect complement to my ‘Garnier BB cream’ as mentioned in earlier reviews.
003 peach glow
Target was having a sale on Revlon Lip Butters which was “Buy one get one free”, seeing as K and I have been waiting to purchase these  products for a long time we thought this offer was too good to pass up. I got two deep pinky red colours in ‘090-Sweet Tart’ and ‘075-Lollipop’. I decided to go for some darker colours to expand my collection, which consists of light pink and nude coloured lipsticks.

075 lollipop

The last product I brought is the essence eyeshadow in ‘cappuccino, please!’. It is the prettiest champagne colour which is perfect as an all over base colour or an inner corner highlight. For under $3 this product was a steal.

K's Current Loves - Mid Month Favourites

This month I have become obsessed with lipsticks and lip stains so of course my current loves would have to include my go to lip products.

My first favourite would have to be the Australis Colour Inject Lipstick in the colour Hula it is a pinkish toned orange/coral colour. It goes perfect with neutral eye makeup and it complements my skin tone perfectly.

My second favourite is the Covergirl Outlast Lip stain in 440 Wild Berry Wink it is a dark dramatic red colour. Normally I would steer clear of red as it washes me out but I love this colour. It lasts so long and doesn't transfer to cups or straws when drinking which is fantastic!

I have two eye shadows in this months favourites they are by Milani in the colours Java Bean and Sheer Sand the products were purchased from and American site called Beauty Joint. These colours are very pigmented and are shimmery finishes. these shadows are perfect for a neutral everyday eye makeup look. I have been wearing these with my Hula Lipstick mentioned above.

This month I have been trying lots mascaras to find the perfect one for me, I have fallen in love with the Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Boost Mascara, it is very black and coats the lashes evenly. It is very affordable and the brush is very big for voluminous lashes.

The last product is the e.l.f Clarifying Pressed Powder this product was also purchased from Beauty Joint. This powder is perfect for everyday as it is very light and doesn't look cakey. It is very affordable but cannot be purchased in Australian stores only online.

If you want a full review on any of the products mentioned comment down below or send us an email the details are in our profile section of this page.

I hope you found this helpful or interesting.

E's Current Loves - Mid Month Favourites

This month I have brought a couple of new products to try out. Some of them have been absolutely fantastic and I cannot go a day without wearing them. Winter is coming to its end so bright summery colours will be appearing again and more natural face makeup will be applied.
The Garnier BB cream was a new addition to my makeup collection this month and I am totally in love with it. It is the perfect mix of a moisturiser and foundation for those days of school or a simple day out. It provides just the right amount of coverage for me and lasts a far way through the day.

In Conjunction with the BB cream I use the Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder, I just recently rediscovered this product and again has become part of my daily routine. As you can see I have already used a fair amount of the product, I apply this powder all over my face to mattify the shine of the BB cream. The powder transfers on to the face really nicely and looks like I am wearing liquid foundation.

Another of my daily routine favourites is the Essence 16 hour stay all day long-lasting concealer. It is the perfect creamy concealer that can be applied under eyes or over blemishes. The smooth texture makes it easily blendable and is absorbed into the skin nicely while covering up any imperfections or dark spots.

I have been using my Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara for a couple of months now and is almost due to be tossed. The thick stumpy brush allows for the lashes to be volumised and lengthened dramatically. The bristles are smaller at the tip of the brush and longer at the end to lengthen the outermost lashes. The mascara itself creates long lashes as well as volume and really adds the extra length, it is also great because it doesn’t clump my lashes. My eyelashes look completely short and barely there without mascara but with the addition of this product they become much more noticeable.
What would I do without my Maybelline Baby Lips? I apply this product at least 20 times every single day. I would literally be lost without it. It is the prefect moisturising lip balm that doesn’t leave your lips with a shine. It repairs and rehydrates your lips, removing cracks and dry skin within a couple of applications per day.

I recently purchased products from beauty joint with K, which included nail polish, my elf blush and some NYX jumbo eye pencils (if you would like a review on our experience please leave a comment below). My Elf Blush is in the colour Blushing Rose and is the perfect pinky red toned blush with hints of gold. It adds the perfect flush of colour to my light skin tone. It is not an over powering blush, where your cheeks become the most bold focal point of your makeup. It gives a subtle pink glow that livens up any face.

The NYX Jumbo eye pencil is in the colour 611 yoghurt. I am absolutely in love with this colour right now! It is the perfect base colour for your eye lids or as I have found this month the perfect inner corner colour. It livens up any tired face and makes your eyes look fresh and awake.
My last mid-month favourite is the Australis Nudist Palette. This palette can be taken anywhere, it has the ability to transform any daily eye look into a night time party look. The colours used in this palette are so versatile that they can be used practically for any eye look. The shades are mostly shimmering shades that offer a glittered look on the eye, there are base colours, lid colours and crease colours which is why I enjoy using this palette so much.

If you would like a proper review on any of these products please let us know and we would be happy to. This blog post is not necessarily a review but more an indicator to what products I am currently loving and a bit about them. Hope you enjoyed reading and enjoy your day.

First Review: Maybelline Colour Tattoos 24hr

24hr intensity. Tattoo tenacity. Dare to wear our longest-lasting shadow. Our ink technology creates super-saturated colour. Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant colour that does not fade.

The Maybelline colour tattoos comes in 10 different shades:
Too Cool
Fierce and Tangy
Audacious Asphalt
Painted Purple
Bad to the Bronze
Pomegranate Punk
Tough as Taupe
Tenacious Teal
Bold Gold
Edgy Emerald

These shadows give of a a high pigmentation that can be build up and is blendable. The colours appear on the eye true to the colour in the jar with a metallic finish. They have long lasting power that would appear to last 24 hours if it was required.

It can be applied with a brush but we found it easier to apply using our fingers and blending it out, this helps as the heat of our hands warms the product and helps it to apply smoothly and evenly. Other eye shadows can be applied to blend it out creating a subtle or dramatic effect.

They are well worth the price of $11.95 R.R.P although though they could be a little cheaper, they can be purchased in Australia at Chemists, Priceline, Target and Big W and any other stores that stock Maybelline. This product is easily found but not all colours are available.
